Google Ads API usage

TaxClick is an online service that helps private individuals in Switzerland prepare their cantonal tax return. The service is operated by TaxClick, a sole proprietorship registered at Route de Blonay 118E, 1814 La Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland.

Why we use the Google Ads API

TaxClick advertises its own service on Google Ads. We use the Google Ads API for a single purpose: to manage and report on our own advertising accounts — Google Ads manager account 285-129-1227 and advertiser account 896-776-9094, both owned and paid for by TaxClick.

The integration is an internal command-line tool. It is not a product, it is not sold, it is not offered to anyone outside TaxClick, and it has no user interface, no login and no public endpoint.

What the tool does

• Reads campaign, ad group, keyword, search-term and conversion metrics for the two accounts above, and writes them to local report files.
• Compares actual spend against the planned daily budget and raises an alert on over- or under-delivery.
• Retrieves search terms and adds negative keywords after review by the operator.
• Creates and updates Search campaigns, ad groups, keywords and responsive search ads pointing to www.taxclick.ch.
• Verifies that conversion actions are correctly configured and receiving data.
• Schedules the activation and pausing of campaigns around Swiss cantonal filing deadlines.

What the tool does not do

• It does not manage advertising accounts belonging to any third party.
• It is not resold, sub-licensed or made available to any external user.
• It does not create accounts, manage users or perform billing operations.
• It does not transfer Google Ads data to any third party, in raw or aggregated form.
• It does not process our customers' tax data, which lives in a separate system with no connection to the Google Ads integration.
